In the heart of the exhibit Petra: Lost City of Stone is an expansive (26 feet) full motion panorama of the ancient city. Using images from photographer Greg Downing, the slow moving gazes were created using 3D animation techniques and the synchronization of three computers. Computers were used to achieve higher resolution with a better image than video servers or DVDs can produce. In an exhibit filled with artifacts these beautiful panoramas effectively transport the visitor to present day Petra.
